Japanese Breakfast announces fourth Brooklyn show featuring Charly Bliss on 10/17

Indie rock band Japanese Breakfast will perform four shows at Brooklyn Steel from Thursday, October 14th to Sunday, October 17th. The first three shows, which feature a guest appearance from dream-pop artist Luna Li, are sold out, but tickets can be purchased on third party seller websites. Tickets to the fourth show, which features opening act Charly Bliss, can be purchased on AXS for $34.50-$39.00. Doors open at 7:00PM, and all the shows are scheduled to begin at 8:00PM.

Japanese Breakfast released their first album, Psychopomp, in 2016 一 the album is consistently ranked among the best shoegaze albums of the 2010s. Their most recent album, Jubilee, was released in June 2021. Michelle Zauner, the front-woman of the band, has described the album as being about ‘joy’, as opposed to their previous two albums which focused heavily on themes of loss and grief. Jubilee was released to widespread critical acclaim and peaked at number seven on Billboard’s alternative chart.

Luna Li, the opener for the first three NYC shows, is a Toronto based multi-instrumentalist and self described “music making moon fairy,” whose dreamy pop music has garnered over 6 million Spotify streams.

Charly Bliss, the opener for the Sunday, October 17th show, is a power pop group from Brooklyn whose sound has been compared to 90s alt-rock bands like Weezer and Veruca Salt.

If you want to hear some of the best alternative music that this generation has to offer, you should check out one of these shows.
