R&B artist Omar Apollo to perform with Deb Never & Niko Rubio at Terminal 5 on 11/9

R&B artist Omar Apollo will perform at Manhattan’s Terminal 5 on Tuesday, November 9th. The show will feature appearances from Deb Never and Niko Rubio. Doors to the show open at 7:00PM, and the show starts at 8:00PM. Tickets to this all ages show can be purchased from AXS for $27.00, or at the door the day of the show for $30.00.

Omar Apollo began releasing music on Spotify in 2017; his first single, “Ugotme”, received over 20,000 streams in a single day 一 and currently sits at nearly 50 million. His music feels tailored to a youthful audience, as Apollo draws on themes of heartbreak, yearning, and queerness that are so integral to the modern teenage experience. Apollo’s 2020 album, Apolonio, features a very contemporary sound infused with Omar Apollo’s distinctive funk and soul influences that received praise from critics and fans.

Deb Never is a genre defying artist who has been defined by critics as hip-hop, emo, grunge, and bedroom pop, but who, in an interview with Fader Magazine, described her music simply as “honest.” She is accompanying Omar Apollo on his 2021 tour, and in 2022 will support Slowthai on their UK tour.

South Bay area based artist Niko Rubio draws her musical inspiration from the Pacific Coast Highway, the road that runs along the ocean for nearly the entire length of California. Her music is beachy and piscesean, drawing influence from indie-rock and contemporary R&B. Her latest release, “Go With You”, is a danceable track with a catchy chorus that chronicles the all-encompassing, transformative nature of young love.

If you like alternative R&B music, and want to see three of the genres most promising young artists perform, this is a show you won’t regret getting tickets for.
