Machine Gun Kelly brings pop-punk to SummerStage on 9/13

Machine Gun Kelly will be performing at SummerStage in Central Park on Monday, September 13th. It is an outdoor, general admission show at Rumsey Playfield that is scheduled to run from 6:00pm-10:00pm, with doors opening at 5:00pm. Tickets originally ranged from $40.00-$50.00 for this general admission show, but are sold out and can only be purchased on third party sites.

Machine Gun Kelly is the stage name for musician Colson Baker, who has been recording music since 2007. Known for his blending of rap and rock, Baker has been a prominent figure in both scenes since the early 2010s. His first album, Lace Up, was released in 2012 and peaked at number 4 on the Billboard 200. More recently, in 2021, Baker received a Billboard Music Award for top rock artist.

His 2021 tour is in support of his 2020 album, Tickets to My Downfall. The album peaked at number 1 on the Billboard 200, the first of his albums to do so. Tickets to My Downfall explores Baker’s pop-punk roots more than any of his previous works — it is his first album to be categorized exclusively as a rock album by Billboard.

Baker’s SummerStage performance will feature jxdn and KennyHoopla, two young artists who have recently become well known in the alternative scene.

If you enjoy Machine Gun Kelly’s re-entrance into pop-punk and want a night filled with nostalgia for the emo music of your teenage years, this is sure to be a fun show.
