The Flaming Lips will be performing at New York’s Brooklyn Steel on Monday, November 8th and Tuesday, November 9th. Doors for the show open at 7:00pm, with the show scheduled to start at 8:00pm. General Admission tickets to the show bought in advance and day of cost $49.00.
Formed in 1983, The Flaming Lips have been one of the leading figures in American psychedelic rock for almost 40 years. Their singles “Approaching Pavonis Mons by Balloon (Utopia Planitia)” and “The Wizard Turns On” earned them Grammy awards for best rock instrumental performance.
Their 2021 tour will be in support of their 2020 album American Head. The album is the band’s attempt to re-engage with their American roots — it even features vocals from American country artist Kasey Musgraves. American Head feels soft and grounded, a sharp but exciting diversion from their previous work, which has traditionally been infused with heavy sci-fi and fantasy elements.
