Album brings mind-boggling music
Virginia natives Enforced are known for their thrash metal music, and just last year, they signed with Century Media Records, where the band started to work on its next album Kill Grid. The album dropped a few days ago, and it is amazing because the vocals by Knox Colby create havoc on each track, the guitar playing from Zach Monahan, Ethan Gensurowsky and Will Wagstaff lights up the atmosphere with sharp guitar chords and the drumming by Alex Bishop contributes to the madness on each tune. Overall, Enforced have done an amazing job with Kill Grid.
Catchy “UXO” displays what kind of a vocalist Colby is and how he can keep this piece together by using his bold and strong voice. It is nice to hear a vocalist who knows how to control his voice while yelling out the lyrics. People can feel the emotions Colby is pouring out on this composition. He sounds grungy while speaking the words, and in some ways, Colby’s vocal grunginess adds more gas into this piece because of how he expresses himself through the constant madness. “UXO” is one of Colby’s best performances on this piece, and fans will enjoy listening to his cadence.
The wild “Malignance” has killer guitar playing from Monahan and Wagstaff. At the beginning of the song, surging guitar riffs emerge from the background with amazing noise. Monahan and Wagstaff are gifted guitarists, each note contributing to the wildness. If people want to head-bang to great guitar playing, “Malignance” will satisfy their needs because Monahan and Wagstaff will blast people’s ears with solid guitar playing.
Jamming “Curtain Fire” has incredible drum playing from Bishop. Every beat rocks this piece with a heavy sound. It is enjoyable to hear Bishop play with a fast, rhythmic style; each drum beat he produces becomes louder and crazier with the sound of him smacking his cymbals. “Curtain Fire” is a composition that will leave listeners wanting to hear more drum playing.
“Blood Ribbon” is a thunderous tune that has great bass guitar playing from Gensurowsky. The vibrations from the bass guitar can be felt through the speakers while the rumbling noise bleeds with strong notes, which help keep the song together. What is noticeably pleasant is how each riff shows Gensurowsky’s talent as a musician, and he is able to create fast paced notes that sound incredible. Fans will not be disappointed with “Blood Ribbon.”
The closing song “Trespasser” is a great example of who Enforced is as a band. Each member performs together to create awesome thrash metal with head-banging guitar and drum playing along with cutting edge vocals. This song has all of those elements; Monahan, Gensurowsky and Wagstaff use their skills to create mind-blowing notes, Bishop’s drum playing creates a fast-paced tempo as he smashes his cymbals and drum heads and Colby’s vocals are commanding with a kick of authority because he wants people to feel the constant madness the band is going through. “Trespasser” proves how thrash metal is still alive through powerful vocals and instrumentation.
Enforced created a monster named Kill Grid. The record proves that the band has its foot on the gas pedal, and through the epic instrumentation and vocals, Enforced has a bright future in the music world.
