Bay Area’s SAP Center has long been a pillar of the Bay Area music scene since its opening in 1993. Home to the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, this incredible venue has also seen the likes of Drake, Future, and some of the biggest names in the music industry currently and in recent history within its walls.

But the arena will gain one more legendary performer on August 4th in the year 2021 when Toronto native, The Weeknd, will perform for close to twenty-thousand audience members. The three-time Grammy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated R&B singer first released his debut mixtape, House of Balloons, in 2011 to critical acclaim. After signing with Republic Records, The Weeknd finally released his long-awaited debut album, Kiss Land, in 2013. Following it with Beauty Behind the Madness, this album would subsequently become one of the bestselling albums of 2015 and launch The Weeknd into true stardom. And since then, The Weeknd has released four albums, won three Grammy Awards, eight Billboard music awards, and more. His most recent release is After Hours, and it is for this album that he will be embarking on The After Hours Tour to promote this new album. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Weeknd’s 2020 dates were postponed leading to the Bay Area leg of his tour to be moved from the Oakland Arena to the SAP Center on August 4th in the year 2021. Be sure to catch The Weeknd there at his new date and continue to follow MXDWN for all your music updates.
