Two Feet @ Metro (5/25)

Two Feet, the solo project of New York singer/songwriter Zachary William Dess, is coming to Chicago in the Spring of next year. Two Feet has a penchant for being able to channel the darker side of human emotions into sonic form. Combining deep synth bass, gritty guitar, and moody vocals, Two Feet creates crips productions that just perfectly hit an indescribable, almost cinematic tone. Dess has been involved with music since a young age, in middle school, he was composing his own orchestral music. Working independently, he became an overnight success, gaining millions of streams and catching Republic Records’ attention.

Dess kicked off his career under the name Two Feet with his 2016 release Go Fuck Yourself, featuring his signature guitar riffs. Soon after it was added to his debut EP, First Steps. His next EP Momentum was released in 2017, expanding his fan base and building upon his methods. His next EP 20 Something Fuck contained many new crowd favorites, climbing up the charts, such as singles I Feel Like I’m Drowning and Hurt People. This year he released his debut album, Pink releasing singles over time such as Maria. Pink goes through an emotional journey, changing the pace around every turn, going from pain to acceptance.

Two Feet is pure edgy, raw emotion, conveyed in grungy guitar strings and powerful bass. Be sure to see him live next year.

MacGregor Salmon: Transfer student from Texas A&M to Loyola University Chicago, I am a Film and Digital Media major. Though my primary study is in film, I love all things creative and want to immerse myself in all kinds of mediums. Sharing and discovering music with others has always been an important part of my relationships with others. I grew up on funk, and the first song I can remember hearing is Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. I still have much love for funk, but I also lean towards alternative, jazz, and anything experimental as I love to hear how new artists are changing the music scene. I find myself on Soundcloud often, looking for creative new works by independent artists. I also consider myself to be a writer, I love to write creative short stories, but I also want to use my skills as a writer to further my appreciation and understanding of music, and the artists behind their work.
