‘Moral of the Story’, Catch Watsky at The Fillmore on 5/21/22

George Virden Watsky, better known as Watsky, is a popular American musician, record producer, and artist who first gained recognition as a slam poet. Having been featured in Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry, his talents immediately won him recognition, particularly when he was named a national and international slam champion. Born and raised in San Francisco, Watsky’s love for poetry eventually transitioned into a love for rap, and the young artist broke out into hip-hop with his viral video, “Pale kid raps fast” in 2011. Since then, Watsky has released six studio albums, appeared in shows like Arrested Development and Blindspotting, and even released a book of essays titled How to Ruin Everything.

Watsky’s most recent release, titled Placement, was released on March 6th, 2020. Watsky had also announced a tour in promotion of the album. However, due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the tour was rescheduled to a later time in early 2021. Most recently, the Bay Area date of this tour was rescheduled for May 22nd in the year 2021. So be sure to catch Watsky there and continue to follow MXDWN for all your music updates.
