‘Lost in the Thick of It’ with The Coronas at The Independent on 11/11

The Coronas are a popular Irish rock band that first began in Dublin, Ireland when three of the band’s current members met in college and formed a band together. After a departure and some lineup shifts, The Coronas were born and became active in 2003. Today, The Coronas are composed of Danny O’Reilly, Conor Egan, and Graham Knox. The band’s debut full-length album, Heroes or Ghosts, was first released in 2007 to great acclaim and won them a spot on the Irish music charts for over seventy-four weeks straight. Attention was drawn from major television shows, radio stations, and more to the up-and-coming band at that time. Their subsequent sophomore release, Tony Was an Ex-Con, was also released to great success, winning Best Album at the 2010 Meteor Awards.

Most recently, the band released its 2020 album, True Love Waits, after the departure of Dave McPhillips from the band, an album that was also recorded by the famed George Murphy. The Coronas will also come to the Bay Area in 2020, performing at The Independent on November 11th on a rescheduled date from their initially postponed date in April. Be sure to catch The Coronas there and be sure to continue to follow MXDWN for all your music updates.
