NoMBe @ Lincoln Hall (3/27)

Relaxed R&B with a chill ambiance, NoMBe’s style sounds like California’s feel but sonified. NoMBe is a German-born musician who was raised in a creatively driven family, and from a young age exhibited an interest in music, studying it and playing piano, eventually finding his niche and love for pop and R&B. When NoMBe visited America, he decided to stay in Los Angelos and make it his musical base of operations. He quickly blew up in the LA scene and garnered respect from artists and prominent figures like Pharrell, Heidi Klum, and Kylie Jenner who partnered with him to use his music to advertise their brands. NoMBe continues to make waves not just in America, but around the world, charting in Australia.

NoMBe first started gaining a following with the release of his 2015 single California Girls. Two years later, he announced his debut album, They Might’ve Even Loved Me an album dedicated the women in his life, his mother, crushes, girlfriends, and more, who have inspired him and made him into the man he is today. He followed a model of releasing a track for the album each month over the course of 2017, prominent songs being Wait, Freak Like Me, and Young Hearts

He has stuck to a single by single release method, and in 2020 has released more singles such as Paint California, Heels, and Prototype.

NoMBe’s sound will surely bring dreamy California right to your eardrums, no matter where you are in the world. Be sure to see him live next year!

MacGregor Salmon: Transfer student from Texas A&M to Loyola University Chicago, I am a Film and Digital Media major. Though my primary study is in film, I love all things creative and want to immerse myself in all kinds of mediums. Sharing and discovering music with others has always been an important part of my relationships with others. I grew up on funk, and the first song I can remember hearing is Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. I still have much love for funk, but I also lean towards alternative, jazz, and anything experimental as I love to hear how new artists are changing the music scene. I find myself on Soundcloud often, looking for creative new works by independent artists. I also consider myself to be a writer, I love to write creative short stories, but I also want to use my skills as a writer to further my appreciation and understanding of music, and the artists behind their work.
