Live an ‘Electric Life’ on 11/17 with Azizi Gibson at Brick & Mortar Music Hall

Azizi Gibson is a popular American rapper whose numerous cultural influences have brought a taste of his melting pot of backgrounds to the center stage of the music industry. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, and then raised in Zaire, Singapore, Thailand, and later the US, Azizi Gibson’s love for music was cultivated under all the periods of transition he underwent as a youth nation-hopping around the globe. After dropping out of college in 2012 and deciding to pursue music full-time, Gibson quickly moved to LA with his low-budget mixtape in his back pocket. It wasn’t until Gibson was able to get into contact with the notable producer, Flying Lotus, and got him to listen to this music, that the ball finally began rolling for Azizi Gibson. He was eventually signed to Flying Lotus’ label, Brainfeeder, and then released his 2013 mixtape, Ghost in the Shell. After that, Gibson then released an EP and two full-length albums, Prehistoric Till Death and A New Life, in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Citing influences from the likes of Eminem and Pharcyde, Azizi Gibson is characterized by his articulate flow and creative and conscientious lyricism. Most recently, Gibson reportedly has a new album set to release sometime in 2020. For all my Bay Area fans, however, Azizi Gibson will be coming to the Bay Area to perform at San Francisco’s Brick & Mortar Music Hall on November 17th. Be sure to catch Azizi Gibson there and continue to follow MXDWN for all your music updates.
