PVRIS is a popular American rock band that was first formed in Lowell, Massachusetts in 2012 under the original moniker Operation Guillotine. Previously a metalcore band, this began to change when the lineup was finally cemented, consisting of vocalist & guitarist Lynn Gunn and bassist Brian Macdonald today. As such, in 2013, PVRIS finally released their first self-titled EP as well as an acoustic EP before signing with their current record label. Since then, PVRIS has released its debut album, White Noise, in 2014 as well as two more albums and an EP. Throughout the years, the band has garnered success, even supporting Fall Out Boy on tour as well as playing Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
PVRIS’s musical style is best described as a unique combination of equal parts dreamy electronica and dark rock, producing music that one could easily characterize as trance-like and beat-heavy. However, this musical style can be experienced by you at Bay Area’s The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on May 28th in the year 2021.
