AJJ is a popular American folk-punk band that was first formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 2004. Originally known as Andrew Jackson Jihad, the band was first composed of Sean Bonnette, Ben Gallaty, and Justin James White. However, AJJ’s core members are singer & guitarist Sean Bonnette and bassist Ben Gallaty. The band’s first LP was titled Candy Cigarettes & Cap Guns, released in 2005. Since then, the band has released six more albums, seven LP’s, and many more compilation and split projects. In 2016, the band officially changed its name to AJJ as the use of ‘jihad’ in their original name was offensive, and the band no longer wanted to be associated with Andrew Jackson either.
Most recently, their newest album, Good Luck Everybody, was released on January 17, 2020. Their releases of singles “A Poem”, “Mega Guillotine 2020”, and “Loudmouth” were put out in support of the album. Unlike other releases, this newest album was released under AJJ’s newly-formed label. However, on May 29th in the year 2021, AJJ will be coming to the Bay Area’s legendary venue, Slim’s to perform for all of their Bay Area fans.
