Strange, Stimulating, and full of noise, Acid Mother’s Temple & The Melting Paraiso is a Japanese Psychedelic rock band founded by Kawabata Makoto. The band has a shapeshifting element to it, many, many offshoots were formed under different names, all with their own take on the psychedelic genre. Acid Mother’s Temple has rotated between many members, and associated acts, although Kawabata Makoto seems to be involved with every iteration of the band’s (or bands’) constant evolution and change. The band tours extensively in the United States and Canada every Spring, and on and off in Europe.
Because of the nature of Acid Mother’s Temple’s array of names and offshoots, their discography is highly complicated, yet rewarding to delve into. The band has a two-decade expanse of music beginning in 1996 with their debut self-titled album. Under their main name alone they have over 60 studio albums, not mentioning live albums, compilation albums, or video albums. Their 2nd and 3rd most popular offshoots, that being Acid Mother’s Temple & The Cosmic Inferno, and Acid Mother’s temple SWR are known for their albums, Pink Lemonade Lady ~ You’re From Outer Space (Cosmic Inferno), and SWR.
The amount of passion it takes to create this expansive of discography is a feat alone in itself. Be sure to be further enthused by their music live.
