Haiku Hands Announces Self-Titled Debut New Album for September 2020 Release and Shares New Song “Fashion Model Art” Featuring Sofi Tukker

Haiku Hands are a trio of Australian musicians that have combined forces for a chic, pop-perfect take on electronic music. There’s no better way to introduce their self-titled debut than with a collaboration with likeminded electronica royalty Sofi Tukker in the form of “Fashion Model Art.” The song is completely modern but still is textured with a touch of ’80s and ’90s inspired bougieness, with the trio repeating the song’s title over and over: “Fashion / Model / Art.”

“The chorus of ‘Fashion Model Art’ was created on the train coming home from the Sydney Biennale,” said the band in a statement. “It was the moment we swapped from being our composed observant art critiques to our boisterous playful selves. We ended up having half the carriage chanting ‘fashion fashion, model model, art art art art’ on the train.”

As the vocals list off various non-sequiturs, we’re left with a hilarious query: “What do I do with my hands?”

“We met Haiku Hands on tour in Australia,” says Sofi Tukker, “After seeing them literally once live, we immediately asked them to go on tour with us. We’ve been good friends ever since. It was so fun working on this track with them. We love how they build in humor and choreography into their music.”

Along with the infectious dance track, Haiku Hands have announced their debut LP. It’s going to be released on September 10th on Mad Decent. We previously caught Haiku Hands live opening for Sofi Tukker when they played at the Shrine in LA.
