WINGTIPS @ Sleeping Village (10/9)

Hauntingly beautiful and atmospheric, WINGTIPS is a Chicago based duo formed by Vincent Segretario and Hannah Avalon. Their sound is reminiscent of the ideal teenage dance that we all had in our heads after watching 80s movies. WINGTIPS exemplifies the goth-pop style by blending bellowing guitar riffs with electronic synthesizers, supplemented by Vincent’s soft, yet echoing voice. The lyrics and tone of their music elicit a feeling of finding love at the end of the world.

WINGTIPS was formed in 2014 by Vincent, first as a name for his solo projects. After Hannah Joined, in 2016 they created their debut EP, Greyarea, which features one of their well known songs Last Minute, which features a music video where teens escape an android evasion by partying one last time. Their debut studio album, Exposure Therapy came out last Summer, featuring layers of guitar, vocals, and synth.

Feel a new kind of Romance with WINGTIPS and witness their stylish nature live!

MacGregor Salmon: Transfer student from Texas A&M to Loyola University Chicago, I am a Film and Digital Media major. Though my primary study is in film, I love all things creative and want to immerse myself in all kinds of mediums. Sharing and discovering music with others has always been an important part of my relationships with others. I grew up on funk, and the first song I can remember hearing is Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. I still have much love for funk, but I also lean towards alternative, jazz, and anything experimental as I love to hear how new artists are changing the music scene. I find myself on Soundcloud often, looking for creative new works by independent artists. I also consider myself to be a writer, I love to write creative short stories, but I also want to use my skills as a writer to further my appreciation and understanding of music, and the artists behind their work.
