‘Big Tymin’ with Nef the Pharaoh at The Catalyst Atrium on 8/21

Tonee Hayes, better known as Nef the Pharaoh, is one of the most popular Bay Area rappers of the present day. Hailing from Vallejo, California, Nef the Pharaoh was born and raised in the Bay Area and cites the likes of E-40 and Mac Dre as some of his most significant musical influences. Nef originally began his career online as an “internet freestyler”, eventually gaining some local traction and recognition from E-40 with the release of his single “Bitch I’m From Vallejo”. However, his release of the song “Big Tymin” launched Nef the Pharaoh into wider popularity, garnering attention from Pitchfork, Noisey, and Complex Magazine

Since his initial success, Nef the Pharaoh has released a self-titled EP called, Sick Wid It, as well as three albums: his debut album The Chang Project, The Big Chang Theory, and Mushrooms & Coloring Books. Nef has also released multiple EPs, mixtapes, and singles. On August 21st, however, Nef the Pharaoh will be performing for his home, the Bay Area, once more. Be sure to catch Nef the Pharaoh at The Catalyst Atrium on August 21st and be sure to continue to follow MXDWN for all your music updates.
