Bay Area ‘Bound’ as Ry X Comes to Perform at Fox Theater on 10/8

Ry Cuming, better known as Ry X, is an Australian singer-songwriter and famed musician. Born and raised in a tiny community in New South Wales, Ry became an avid explorer and surfer. Ry also developed a profound love for music, learning his father’s record collection by heart. Having lived a nomadic life with homes in Stockholm, Indonesia, London, and more recently, Los Angeles. Ry began songwriting at thirteen and attracted attention from a film producer at sixteen. Although a record was eventually released, Ry X soon felt that his artistic and musical style was being shaped into a form he didn’t feel was him anymore. After taking a reprieve in Indonesia, Ry X eventually found his way back to music, resulting in “Howling”, a techno-inspired single. In 2013, Ry X also released the Berlin EP, eventually hitting mainstream radio and garnering great acclaim. His debut album, Dawn, was released in 2016, and his sophomore album, Unfurl, released in 2019. His global tour was announced with its release.

On October 8th, the Bay Area will get to see Ry X on this long-awaited tour. Ry X is set to perform at Oakland’s famed Fox Theater, which has seen the likes of Schoolboy Q and even Barack Obama.
