Catch My Chemical Romance at the Oakland Arena on 10/6 and Hear Their ‘Famous Last Words’

My Chemical Romance, often known as MCR or My Chem, is one of America’s most recognizable rock bands. Its current lineup is composed of Gerard Way on vocals, Ray Toro & Frank Iero on guitar, and Mikey Way on bass. After witnessing the horrors of 9/11, Gerard Way first decided to change the course of his life by forming what would become My Chemical Romance. After the band began to form into a cohesive unit, they first released I Brought You Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love on Eyeball Records. Through this release and their appearance on MySpace, MCR was able to gain an initial fan base. However, it was through singing with a larger label, Reprise Records, and their subsequent release of Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, their major-label debut, that jump-started their rise. The album would later go platinum.

Their 2006 release of The Black Parade was what launched them into icon status, however. And following their split, the band’s release of a greatest hits album and tenth-anniversary reissue reaffirmed their status. However, they eventually reunited privately in 2017 and announced a reunion show in 2019 and extended it to a smaller tour in later 2019. In early 2020, the band also announced a North American tour. The Bay Area date of this tour is on October 6th at the Oakland Arena. Be sure to catch My Chemical Romance on October 6th, and be sure to follow Mxdwn for all your music updates.
