Catch Tech N9ne ‘Make the Hood Go Crazy’ at Berkeley’s Cornerstone on 9/16

Aaron Dontez Yates, better known as Tech N9ne, was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. Beginning to rap from a young age, Yates adopted the stage name, Tech N9ne, in reference to the TEC-9 semi-automatic handgun. However, as years passed, Yates began to attach a different and more profound meaning to his stage name, saying that ‘tech’ was in reference to ‘technique’ and ‘9’ a reference to the number of completion. Early in his career, Tech N9ne first started as a member of Black Mafia. However, after the group eventually disbanded, Tech N9ne decided to pursue a solo career. Since then, Tech N9ne has sold over two million albums, released over fourteen studio albums, and spent almost thirty years in the rap game.

Tech N9ne is best known for intricate rhyme schemes and Chopper rap style, a very rapid style of rap difficult to master. During his almost thirty-year career, Tech N9ne’s music has appeared in a number of mediums: film, television, video games, and more. On April 10, 2020, Tech N9ne released his 22nd and most recent studio album, titled, EnterFear. And on September 16th, Tech N9ne will come to the Bay Area’s Cornerstone music venue in Berkeley, California. He will perform thirty year’s worth of hits for his audience. Be sure to catch Tech N9ne on September 16th at Berkeley’s Cornerstone, and continue to follow Mxdwn for all your music updates.
