Album Review: Vader – Solitude in Madness

Album brings electrifying music

Polish death metal band Vader are back with their twelfth studio album, Solitude in Madness. This record is dynamic with Peter’s vocals and Spider’s guitar playing wildly surging through each track, Hal’s bass guitar playing contributes to the madness by producing deep, low rumbles and James’s drum playing is filled with erratic and rhythmic beats. If listeners want to hear an album that has engaging metal music, Solitude in Madness is the album for them.

“Into Oblivion” is a great song because the instrumentation stays true to the roots of metal composition. Peter’s and Spider’s ability to play fast-paced guitar notes adds depth with sharp sounds, Hal’s bass guitar rages war in the background with non-stop low riffs and the drum playing from James holds the song together by producing thunderous beats. “Into Oblivion” shows how Vader is continuing to create quality music.

The track “Emptiness” is a strong composition because of how Peter’s vocals fill the atmosphere with authority. In the middle of the music, shrieking can be heard briefly blaring with emotion and the sound is surprisingly enjoyable due to how the piercing noise contributes as a critical form of music. If listeners want to hear a talented voice, “Emptiness” displays how vocals can be a powerful tool in music. Overall, Peter shines on this track.

“Stigma of Divinity” contains blazing guitar sounds that add a touch of madness in the song. Peter and Spider do a fantastic job with shredding through the music notes in pure passion, and the guitar solo is just as wild and wicked. While listening, the sharp and vibrant noise from the guitar solo impacts the song by creating a source of energy that can be felt through the speakers. “Sigma of Divinity” can satisfy the need of hearing ear-bleeding music.

“Bones” is a solid piece of work because of how Hal’s bass guitar murders the background with rapid riffs. At the beginning of the song, the amplified sounds of fast-paced rumbles can be heard vibrating blissfully, and the vibrations can be felt through the headphones. Throughout the whole song, Hal does a splendid job of keeping up with the rest of the band and if listeners have a need to headbang, air guitar or dance like crazy, “Bones” is the song that can cause them to become wild.

“Despair” is a righteous track due to the meaning behind the words. While looking at the lyrics, “stench of human entities/ the absolute of sin/ degeneration dominating/ scum prevails and rules,” it feels like the band is expressing themselves through powerful anger and the lettering implies the hatred Vader has toward the leaders of the government who are destroying lives in a community. Also, it appears like the band wants people to know that they feel the pain of not knowing what the government can do to help people through a scary crisis. Other than the words, the music is just as good and fans will not be disappointed.

Vader is back and they have their feet on the gas pedal with their album Solitude in Madness.
