On a date that’s sure to be one to remember, iconic British heavy metal will meet iconic American heavy metal at Oracle Park on July 19th. Def Leppard, the legendary British heavy metal band that has long been considered part of the new wave of the British heavy metal movement, is comprised of the lineup of Joe Elliot on lead vocals, Rick Savage on bass, Rick Allen on drums, Phil Collen on guitar, and Vivian Campbell on guitar since 1992. However, with a history spanning back to its formation in 1977, Def Leppard has since become one of the most commercially successful and notable heavy metal bands in the entirety of the genre’s history. With albums and hits that have topped charts and been certified even 12x platinum, Def Leppard is one of the world’s best-selling music artists, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. And in 2019, Def Leppard was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Across the pond, Mӧtley Crūe was formed in 1981 with Nikki Sixx as lead bassist, Tommy Lee as drummer, Mick Mars as guitarist, and Vince Neil as lead singer. Since then, Mӧtley Crūe has achieved remarkable success on a similar level as Def Leppard. Having sold over 100 million records worldwide as well and put out many platinum and multi-platinum albums, Mӧtley Crūe holds its own as one of the most legendary heavy metal bands of the genre.
