Mogwai Scoring Amazon Drug Drama ZeroZeroZero

Post-rock outfit Mogwai will be scoring the upcoming Amazon crime drama series ZeroZeroZero, which is currently available on the Amazon Prime service as of today. This upcoming score will feature new material from the group, along with the inclusion of some of their classics such as “Sine Wave” from their studio album Rock Action.

This upcoming series is being made by Stefano Sollima, Leonardo Fasoli and Mauricio Katz, and is based on the novel of the same name, which was written by Roberto Savioano. Saviano also authored the novel and Amazon Prime series Gomorrah, which dealth with Italian crime syndicates. This latest series will portray the cocaine trade from Monterrey, Mexico to Calabria, Italy, with a special focus on the buyers, sellers and brokers.

This upcoming series stars Andrea Riseborough, Dane DeHaan and Gabriel Byrne as the Lynwood family, from the United States. The family controls an international shipping company, which acts as a broker between the Mexican and Italian cocaine trade and organized crime syndicates. The trailer for the series can be found below.

Mogwai have previously done soundtrack work for the French television series Les Revenants, which was originally released back in 2013. They have done soundtrack work for many documentaries and films including The Fountain, Kin, Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait, Atomic, Living in Dread and Promise, and Before the Flood. The group’s soundtrack for Kin was released in 2018.

“Filled with sci-fi technology and action-packed scenes, KIN would not be the same without the enhancement that the Mogwai’s elegant, genre-bending composition provides,” mxdwn reviewer Vanessa Phan stated.
