Big Boi’s New Kryptonite Festival Announces Inaugural 2020 Lineup Featuring Big Boi, Goodie Mob and Earthgang

Seven-time Grammy Award-winning, hip hop producer and member of OutKast, Big Boi presents Kryptonite Festival to take place at Cadence Bank Ampitheatre at Chastain Park in Atlanta on April 18 with tickets on sale now. Artists such as Big Boi, Goodie Mob, Earthgang, Kneel’n Ray and more will take to the stage for performances.

Big Boi shared, “Excited to light up Atlanta with some of my closest friends and collaborators, and also show out some fresh new talent at the first ever Kryptonite festival. We gonna bring all good vibrations to our fans who turn out in our home city. #Weoutchea #FestivalKillers.” This is just the beginning for a massive 2020 for Big Boi who continues to take hip-hop to another dimension.

He recently joined forces with longtime collaborator Sleepy Brown to release the first track off of their upcoming full-length debut, “Intentions” featuring CeeLo Green. In the track, “Intentions” Big Boi and Sleepy Brown brought the 1970’s club feel back to mainstream music with the infusion of their old school flow, Motown funk, and modernized lyricism. The Atlanta duo reunited earlier this year for a two-week sold-out tour which they declare is the biggest motivator behind their joint project, HITCO. They hunkered down in Stankonia Studios and started working on their long-overdue collaboration project.

Big Boi aka Antwan André Patton made history as the preeminent spitter of the Dungeon Family and one-half of OutKast. The legendary duo sold 25 million albums and garnered seven Grammy Awards, becoming the first and only hip-hop artist in history to win the Grammy for “Album of the Year” upon release of their 2003 RIAA Diamond-certified Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. Big Boi made his proper introduction as a solo artist in 2010 with Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty.

A modern classic, it captured #3 on the Billboard Top 200 and landed on Pitchfork’s “100 Best Albums of the Decade ‘So Far’.” Following a succession of high-profile album releases, Big Boi released his latest album Boomiverse in 2017. The smash single “All Night” sound tracked a high-profile Apple Animoji commercial, blew up radio, and clocked 40 million streams within a year. The song also hit Top 30 on the pop chart and Top 10 at Rhythmic.

Kelly Tucker: Originally from Los Angeles, I grew up listening to all types of music. My first concert was Aerosmith with Skid Row, then moved on to concerts with Metallica, Lollapalooza, Guns N’ Roses, Soundgarden and more. One of my favorite shows of all time was when I was in college and someone took me to see the Allman Brothers play. I also scalped a ticket to see Pearl Jam and the amazing Eddie Vedder sing his heart out. My professional career started in 2000 at Nielsen Business Media where I was an assistant in a sales department and later got promoted to advertising account executive. When the recession hit in 2008 and the magazine was sold, I took a job at a call center and later got promoted to assistant to the CEO and COO of a global company. In 2017, I took a position at a pharmaceutical agency, and now currently responsible for coordinating meeting logistics for physicians and pharma reps throughout the United States. In my spare time, I work at Peace4Kids a non-profit in South Los Angeles and write screenplays in hopes to make a breakthrough.
