The Coachella gods have answered our calls and have decided to show mercy on us; us being the few unfortunate souls that were not able to come across a Weekend1 or Weekend 2 ticket for retail price. Two, of some of the most anticipated artists at Coachella 2020, are giving us the opportunity to have a glance at the energy they are going to bring to Coachella Valley. Announced on 02/19, the beautifully soulful voice of Ari Lennox and the instrumental prowess of Masego are set to come to the Warfield on 04/15. Presale starts today with the use of the code: “PEACH”. Tickets are currently selling for $45 – $89.50+; depending on seating. The door opens at 7 and the show begins at 8 (but honestly, you aren’t going to want to miss the opportunity to miss even a second of either of their performance).
Masego aka Uncle Sego aka “blessing” is a name that was given to him at a young age because of his talent of being able to play multiple instruments with such mastery. He even has a tattoo for every instrument he knows how to play on his fingers. He has paved his way in the industry with his iconic sounds of jazz fusion that shines through on tracks such as “Tadow” (which is produced with the talented FKJ). His discography is decorated with some of the smoothest instrumentals combined with vocals that are even more captivating. Seeing him produce this same “one-man-band” energy live is definitely a sight to see.
Ari Lennox, the Queen of Dreamville and one of the most polarizing artists in the past few years to bring authenticity back to R&B. Ari Lennox is known for singles such as “Shea Butter Baby” and “BMO” but taking a deeper look at her discography you can see that she is much more than just her most popular singles. Her unique soulful voice layered overtop live instrumentals are a combination made in heaven.
