Step into Whethan’s Realm of Fantasy at the Warfield on 03/27

Whethan has been one of the most exciting electronic artists to come onto the scene in the last few years. Obtaining national recognition in 2016 (at the age of 16), he has been living out every young artist’s dreams and fantasies. On Friday, March 27th, Whethan invites us in to get a glimpse of that “Fantasy” at the Warfield. Accompanied by the spontaneous sets of Chrome Sparks and the upcoming talent of Ramzoid, there is a 100% chance that energy in the Warfield will have everyone bouncing around (or head nod if you are too cool to dance in public). Protip from someone who has been to multiple Whethan sets: make sure you have enough elbow room in GA to pull off your favorite dance moves (you can thank me later). Tickets are ranging from $24.50 – $39.50; you can see the ticket breakdown below. The doors open at 7:00 PM and the show begins at 8:00 PM.

Upcoming talent from Canada- Ramzoid -has a unique sound where he combines some of the best elements of genres ranging from electronic, R&B and hiphop. On his most recent song, “Deseret”, he layers a hard-knocking bass overtop of a melodic synth while creating a catchy chorus fans are able to sing along to. Ramzoid’s catalogue shows that he’s not afraid to experiment with his sound.

The beauty of Chrome Sparks is that we never know what to expect at their live sets (wait that rhymed? bars). With the creative mind of Jeremy Malvin at the forefront of the group, we never know if we are going to get a set that comprises a solo act or a live band. Chrome Sparks distinct sound is the masterful use of electronic synth throughout their discography. Chrome Sparks can use synths to create a wide range of vibes from energetic tracks like “Summer Luv” to more mellow tracks like “Marijuana”. Either way, their live set is definitely something you don’t want to miss.

I’ve had the pleasure to catch a live set by Whethan a few years ago. As an adamant concert goer, his set has been one that I often find myself reminiscing about. Not only is his music captivating and almost impossible not to dance to, the energy that he brings to his sets are unparalleled by most live sets I’ve seen. With Whethan being part of major lineups like Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Coachella, I think this is the perfect opportunity to get the same experience minus the hassle of attending a big festival. Malik Bey: I'm an East Coast native who took on the adventure of living in the Bay Area for the last few years. I'm currently in the process of developing a social media website that will allow all kinds of artist to collaborate on projects and have a safe space to exhibit their art. In my spare time, I create a playlist series called "DRINK WATER"; which is a creative take on exposing listeners to refreshing new music. This series is a collaborative effort from me and a few other music lovers with the purpose of getting more music lovers to contribute to the playlist. I also DJ around the bay area from time to time; feel free to ask me about some of my live sets. But overall, I'm just a music connoisseur who loves talking and writing about music.
