Forecast: Sango’s “Quiet Storm” Projected to Hit the UC Theatre on 02/08

Sango, the King of bounce, has returned for his “The Quiet Storm” Tour to prove to us once again why he deserves the throne. Sango and Savon, two artists whose live DJing has been their fingerprint, pride themselves on creating unique sets and different experiences for every venue they perform. On Saturday, February 8th, they will bring that same energy to the UC Theatre Music Hall which is located in the heart of Berkeley. General Admission is currently going for $32.50.

Michigan native, Savon, is no stranger to producing hits. He has a versatile collection of music ranging from ambient originals to remixes that can get the crowd jumpin’. Savon has worked with his fellow group member of AGO, Sango, on multiple occasions; their most recent song being “God Nem”. On “God Nem”, you can hear the masterful blend of Savon’s ambient sounds and Sango’s signature bounce.

Sango has been one of the most influential producers behind the scenes in the past couple of years. Starting off with working with SOULECTION, a group of producers based in LA, he has slowly evolved to creating his own lane in the industry. In a sense, he is a jack of all trades when it comes to creating vibes because he takes influences from all over; brazilian funk, baile, R&B and hip hop are just a few. Last year, he released a remix of “Nights” by Frank Ocean, in which took the smooth vocals of frank ocean over a minimalistic beat and turned it into a bop. This year, his most recent hit “IN MY ROOM” ,which he also produced for the elusive Frank Ocean, is rumored to be on an upcoming collaboration project that they are working on. Sango is definitely an artist that should be on everyone’s watch list in 2020; this tour is only a snippet of what we are to expect from him this year.

Whether you are a fan of their discography or not – I guarantee the energy in the room will atleast make you bounce (especially after a drink or two).

Malik Bey: I'm an East Coast native who took on the adventure of living in the Bay Area for the last few years. I'm currently in the process of developing a social media website that will allow all kinds of artist to collaborate on projects and have a safe space to exhibit their art. In my spare time, I create a playlist series called "DRINK WATER"; which is a creative take on exposing listeners to refreshing new music. This series is a collaborative effort from me and a few other music lovers with the purpose of getting more music lovers to contribute to the playlist. I also DJ around the bay area from time to time; feel free to ask me about some of my live sets. But overall, I'm just a music connoisseur who loves talking and writing about music.
