NEW MUSIC ALERT: Noise Rock Supergroup Human Impact Push and Pull on Dark New Song “E605″

Members of Swans, Cop Shoot Cop and Unsane recently announced the new group Human Impact and today they’ve shared a video for their latest single, “E605.” The video keeps it simple with the band members performing the song in what looks like a basement practice space. The band consists of guitarist and singer Chris Spencer (Unsane), electronics by Jim Coleman (Cop Shoot Cop), drummer Phil Puleo (Cop Shoot Cop, Swans) and bassist Chris Pravdica (Swans).

The band announced their existance in December of 2019 and announced a self-titled debut that will be released on the venerable experimental label Ipecac Records. That album was initially given a March 2020 release date and later specified to March 13, 2020. When they released

The song takes the listener through a variety of passages, from the sci-fi industrial grind of opening verses, building up towards a towering crescendo in the chorus nearly midway through the song. Spencer barks out the vocals as the discordant guitar riffs and distorting electronics swirl around in the background. There’s so much going on with this song, yet like the accompanying visuals, it’s all so simple. Spencer’s vocals and guitars certainly guide the mix but the song reaches a higher level through its subtle details like the industrial-influenced bass and electronics.

The band will play a record release show on March 14 at St. Vitus. This will be the band’s second show ever, having debuted as a group with a show at Union Pool in New York City.
