The New Orleans Jazz Festival will touch down in Louisiana for two weekends from Thursday, April 23 to Sunday, April 26 and Thursday, April 30 to Sunday, May 3, and will feature a lineup including legendary rock band The Who, alternative hip hop artist Lizzo and singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile. This event will take place at the Fair Grounds Race Course, in the heart of New Orleans.
This event hosts a massive lineup of many high-profile names including Dead & Company, Stevie Nicks, Foo Fighters, John Prine, Brittany Howard, The Black Crowes, Lenny Kravitz, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Norah Jones (and Puss N’ Boots), Wu Tang Clan Ft. The Soul Rebels, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Avett Brothers, Erykah Badu and H.E.R. This is one of the stops for the southern rock outfit The Black Crowes, who announced set of 2020 reunion shows in support the 30th anniversary of their commercially successful debut album Shake Your Money Maker.
The Who released their album Who last year. This was the band’s first studio album in over thirteen years since the release of Endless Wire in 2006, and was made by the last two surviving members of the group Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend.
“As a whole, the album delivers exactly what people would expect of a Who album, and that’s a good thing. Townshend didn’t seem to think so, as he opens the entire album with the line ‘I know you’re going to hate this song’ but he could not be more wrong,'” mxdwn reviewer Arnim Whisler explained.
Lizzo will be performing at this year’s Grammy awards, where she was nominated in all of the “big four,” categories. Carlile released music video for her song “The Mother,” last year.
