Nashville-based up and coming country singer Margo Price just released her new single, “Stone Me,” and performed it live for the first time on Full Frontal With Samantha Bee. It is the artist’s first new music released in more than 2 years.
The song displays Price’s frustration with her lover, and shows her desire to break free from her lover’s abusive grasp. Over calming acoustic guitar chords and piano lines, Price declares in the chorus, “Love me, hate me, desecrate me/Call me a bitch then call me baby/You don’t know me, you don’t own me/Yeah that’s no way to stone me.”
Since the release of her second studio album All American Made in 2017, Price has remained quiet until now. Price recently stated in a press release, “It’s been hard to keep everything I’ve been working on for the last year to myself and I’m so excited to share it.” Price is set to take the stage at the Tibet House Benefit in February of this year, along with Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Phoebe Bridgers, and more.
