The Los Angeles-based “Daytime Disco,” outfit Poolside have announced a new album titled Low Season, which is set to be released on Friday, February 7th. This new project is supported by a new single titled “Around The Sun,” which features the psychedelic rock group Amo Amo.
“Around The Sun,” features a funky bassline, a breezy Jazz inspired keyboard and a steady rhythmic drum beat complimented by the song’s smooth vocals. Vintage beach shots, showing people jet skiing, sailing and relaxing on a waterfront are cut together with shots of the band performing during the music video.
This latest project also contains features from Panama, Ben Browning (Cut Copy) and Psychemagik among various others. In addition, Poolside’s live band which consists of drummer Vito Roccoforte (The Rapture), bassist/ vocalist Mattie Safer (The Rapture), percussionist Brijean Murphy (Toro Y Moi, U.S. Girls) and saxophonist/ keyboardist/ multi-instrumentalist Casey Butler (Pharaohs) contributed to this project’s recording.
“Sonically, while staying rooted in the electronic world, Low Season moves in an organic and human direction with guitars, pianos and hand drums weaving their way through every song,” the band’s founder Jeffrey Paradise explained regarding the new project. “Lyrically, the songs dig deep and are personal and vulnerable. This album expresses all the ups and downs and highs and lows of life, love, loneliness, success, failure and the beauty in searching for something more.”
Last year the band debuted the single titled “Greatest City,” which was accompanied by a music video that showcased various vintage shots of cities across the world.
