Geezer Butler, Brian Wilson, Chuck D and Others Pay Tribute to Legendary Drummer Neil Peart

After the tragic passing of iconic drummer Neil Peart, fellow musicians have paid tribute including Geezer Butler, Dave Grohl and Chuck D via social media. According to Brooklyn Vegan, fellow drummers Lars Ulrich, Tommy Lee, Steven Drozd, Chad Smith, Questlove, Max Weinberg, Fred Armisen, Glenn Kotche, Jon Wurster, Sheila E, Dave Lombardo, Rikki Rockett, and Peter Criss, as well as Peter Frampton, Superchunk, Jack Black, Geezer Butler, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Mets/Dodgers catcher Mike Piazza, Dâm-Funk, Sloan, Carl Newman, Judd Apatow, Adam Sandler, Deadwood‘s W. Earl Brown, Junior Boys, Chuck D, Dave Foley, Brian Wilson, Brian Posehn, Kirk Hammett. See below to read some of their touching messages.

Peart sadly passed on January 7th after battling brain cancer for the past three years. He was 67 years old. Peart served as the drummer for the legendary band Rush.  Known for hits such as “Closer to the Heart,” “Fly By Night” and “Tom Sawyer,” the band has played many sold-out shows and has released a whopping 19 albums, with Peart featured on 18 of them and the last being 2012’s Clockwork Angels. The following year, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Heart, Public Enemy, Randy Newman, Albert King and Donna Summer.
