Glenn Danzig Announces Elvis Presley Covers Album for April 2020 Release

Punk rock/heavy metal music icon Glenn Danzig recently announced plans to release his long-awaited Elvis Presley covers album. The project is slated to be released sometime in April of this year. According to The Prp Danzig and his respective people shared the announcement via social media, this past Thursday January 9, “revealing that he plans to have his long-awaited Elvis Presley covers effort due out in April. He is also planning select U.S. shows in support of it. Also mentioned are some traditional Danzig shows being mapped out for Europe in the summer and North America in the fall with more details to come. A special summer event is also briefly teased.”

Danzig’s recent announcement in regards to the Elvis Presley covers album coincides with the release of Danzig’s directorial film debut, Verotika. According to Danzig’s official Facebook page, to ring in the new year Danzig posted, “Happy New Year to everyone & thanks to all the VEROTIK & DANZIG Fans for making the upcoming ‘VEROTIKA’ Blu-Ray/DVD Release #3 on Amazon. And get ready as the ‘Danzig sings Elvis’ Album is set for an April release with some select intimate shows scheduled for a few cities in the US around that same time.”

Danzig is exclusively responsible for founding some of the most celebrated bands, in their respective genres, such as Misfits, Samhain and Danzig. Being that Danzig is a multifaceted figure in music and having his hands in many crafts as a singer/songwriter/musician and record producer adds to his arsenal amongst other creative avenues of business. As previously reported in the aforementioned The Prp article,”…Danzig‘s feature-length directorial debut film ‘Verotika’ will be out February 25th with pre-orders available at Amazon.”

UPDATE (2/27): Glenn Danzig has announced an official release date for his upcoming album of Elvis Presley covers, simply titled Danzig Sings Elvis. The album will be out on April 17, 2020 and in addition to firming up the release date, the iconic metal singer will be announcing some tour dates behind the covers album in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Those dates will be announced next week, so stay tuned.
