Cheap Trick, L7, Marilyn Manson and Dave Grohl have been confirmed for an appearance at The Art of Elysium and We Are Hear’s “Heaven is Rock & Roll” Gala, which will take place on January 4th at the Hollywood Palladium.
This event will also be opened with DJ performances by Adam 12 and Chris Holmes. Grohl, who will be drumming on one of the performances, will also be joined by former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic on bass and touring Nirvana member Pat Smear on guitar.
This will be the first time the three surviving Nirvana members have been together on stage since the 2018 Cal Jam festival encore set. The trio will be joined by Beck, Annie Clark (better known as St. Vincent) and Grohl’s daughter Violet for this special performance. Clark had previously joined the three at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside Joan Jett and Lorde in 2014. Afterward, the group held a show in Brooklyn, where they were joined by J. Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. and John McCauley of Deer Tick.
“The generosity of all these artists has left us speechless” said Linda Perry and Kerry Brown, CEO’s of We Are Hear in a press release. “We wanted to create a truly unique experience with The Art Of Elysium, the way they help people in need triumph through art is rare and beautiful.”
Proceeds from this event go out to support The Art of Elysium a community oriented project, which currently offer 110 community programs a month, serving over 30,000 individuals a year.
