Josh Rand, the guitarist for the alternative metal band Stone Sour stated that the group will share unreleased material, demos and live cuts throughout this year. This announcement comes off of the recent release of thew band’s live album Hello, You Bastards: Live in Reno, which dropped a few weeks ago. Some of the upcoming material that will be released dates back to the bands early days in the 1990s.

“I think it’s going to be really cool, and it’ll give an insight into how we work as a band,” Rand enthused. “It’s an interesting thing to hear stuff in its raw form and not polished like you hear in a finished record. There’s a rawness to it that’s cool.”

Rand also hinted that a compilation release in the near future may be likely. “It’s a mixture of everything — some live stuff, some demo stuff, some new material that has not been heard,” Rand elaborated.

While the band is currently sitting on some recently recorded Material, they will not be touring, nor releasing any future releases until the band’s frontman Corey Taylor, who also fronts Slipknot, fulfills his obligations with the latter group.

“We started writing new music pretty much as soon as we got on the road. We just can’t be stopped. We’re gluttons for punishment at this point,” Taylor explained during a podcast.”The cool thing is that knowing that we’ve got all this great material, we can kind of enjoy the rest as much as we can because we know when it’s time to really start ramping up the demo machine, we’re going to have all this cool stuff to listen to. There’s no pressure for us to just run right in.”
