Pouzza Festival Announces 2020 Lineup Featuring Radkey, War on Women and Tim Barry

The Canadian-based punk rock music event Pouzza Festival, set to take place on May 15-17 in downtown Montreal, Quebec, has announced the first names for their 2020 lineup that includes Radkey, War on Women and Tim Barry. According to Pouzza Festival’s official website, 40 out of a total of 150 bands have been announced this month and many more are expected to be announced early next year.

The St. Joseph, Missouri collective Radkey, made up of three home schooled siblings: Isaiah, Solomon and Dee Radke, are among the first names announced for Pouzza Festival 2020. Radkey has been a staple to the punk rock scene ever since their inception back in 2010. Most notably the brothers got their start recording their first EP, 2013’s Cat & Mouse, on Wreckroom Records a music imprint owned by actor Adrien Grenier of the hit HBO television series Entourage. Most recently they recorded their latest LP No Strange Cats…P.A.W this year via RED Music. Isaiah Radkey spoke of the message behind their latest single “P.A.W” saying “‘P.A.W.’ is a song mostly about ‘Redlining’ and how shitty it feels to be considered less than others. It’s about the times when you’re reminded of that fact. The feeling that you’re always being watched.”

The Baltimore, Maryland-based co-ed hardcore feminist punk rock group, War on Woman, are also amongst the first names announced for next year’s Pouzza Festival. War on Woman’s current touring roster includes: Shawna Potter, Brooks Harlan, Suzanne Werner, Dave Cavalier and Jennifer Vito. The group formed back in 2010 and have since recorded two full length studio albums via Bridge Nine Records that includes their self-tilted 2015 debut album War on Woman and their most recent sophomore effort 2018’s Capture The Flag. The core themes and subject matter behind War on Woman’s signature sound cover a wide range of politically poignant feminist topics, as previously reported in a 2016 Newsweek article, including “…abortion rights, access to contraception, surviving rape, and online misogyny.”

Tim Barry, lead singer of Richmond, Virginia-based punk rock group Avail, has also been recently announced to join the lineup for Pouzza Festival 2020. For the singer/songwriter/guitarist Barry is no stranger to being a multi-faceted artist also performing folk music on his own since 2004. Most recently, Barry released his folk-based project The Roads to Richmond via Chunksaah Records back in October of this year.
