The Annual SoCal Hoedown has announced its 2020 lineup featuring the likes of hardcore punk legends Black Flag, punk band TSOL and fusion rock band Fishbone. These artists will be performing down at the Port of Los Angeles, in San Pedro, California a city on the other side of the south bay from Long Beach. Tickets for the event, which takes place at the Port of Los Angeles on August 22, can be purchased here.
Other performers who have been approved for this recent festival include Throwrag, The Untouchables, Love Canal, Cornfed Project and The Heroes, with more artists expected to be announced in the near future. Last year’s lineup featured the likes of the Dead Kennedys, Suicidal Tendencies, Nekromantix, Living End and Agent Orange.
Black Flag featuring Greg Ginn and Mike Vallely announced a set of summer 2019 tour dates earlier this year, where they performed across the United States. The band also briefly had stints in Asia and Latin America during the year.
TSOL dropped the grim “Is This A Wonderful World,” earlier this year as well, which served as a satirical take on the Louis Armstrong classic, “What A Wonderful World.” This satirical take followed up from their cover of the go-go track “1 Thing,” originally performed by R&B star Amerie back in 2005.
Fishbone, a band which originated in Los Angeles back in 1979, are known for their eclectic mix of sounds which include blends of ska, punk, funk, metal, reggae, and soul. While the band never really garnered a large amount of mainstream success, their unique social commentary, stage presence and self-conscious diversity and sense of humor have garnered them a strong cult following.
