Pop duo Meg & Dia have debuted a new music video for the song “Light Blown Out,” a new song featured their their latest Christmas album release December Darling. This record was released on December 3rd via Pure Noise Records.
“Lights Blown Out,” is a somber pop tune with a light piano instrumental, complimented by some bells, and the sister’s voices throughout the track. Thie song’s lyrics capture the feeling of loneliness one may feel during the holidays while they’re away from family of loved ones, with the main hook stating “Christmas without you around/ Is a treat, with the lights blown out.”
The video opens with Meg, and a male actor opening a film from their holiday memories, with Meg shown to be playing an old school film real and the male shown putting in a DVD titled Christmas 2011. The film shows the Christmas adventures the couple went on, some of which involved Dia and her significant other, although it is implied that Meg is no longer with her significant other at the close of the video. At the end of the film, Meg appears at Dia’s front door.
“This year, Dia and I wanted to make an album with our own take on some Christmas classics as well as a few originals,” Meg Frampton, Dia’s sister and one half of the duo explained. “I hope that as people are spending time with their friends and family this holiday season, our music playing along in the background will add just a hint of holiday magic.”
The duo released “Teenagers,” a student-directed music video earlier this year.
