Lana Del Rey Releases 14-Minute Video Featuring Songs “Norman Fucking Rockwell,” “Bartender” and “Happiness is a butterfly”

Pop artist Lana Del Rey has released a 14-minute long video, titled after her album Norman Fucking Rockwell, which features three of her songs featured on the project, “Norman Fucking Rockwell,” “Bartender” and “Happiness is a butterfly.” This latest project was directed by Chuck Grant and edited by LDR.

“Norman Fucking Rockwell,” is shot in a vintage film style, with grainy shots that are complimented by brief moments of special effects such as the shot of musical notes floating out of a fountain behind her during one of the chorus’ for the title track. Each song transitions seamlessly from the next, as they each capture a personal yet nostalgic feel complimented by her lyricism.

The performer recently announced that she would be releasing a new album next January consisting entirely of her spoken word poetry. Half of the proceeds from this upcoming project will be donated toward various Native American organizations.

Norman Fucking Rockwell made our list for the top 50 albums of 2019, while two songs from the project  “hope is dangerous thing for a woman like me to have – but i have it” and “Looking For America,” are featured on our top 50 songs of 2019 list.

“Though many try, no one has completely emulated Del Rey’s otherworldly style. The themes of ethereal sorrow and wistful nostalgia emphasized by the starkness of particular lyrics are what make Norman Fucking Rockwell the very essence of the Lana Del Rey sound,” mdwn reviewer Marianna Salcedo explained. “Heartache and ’60s vibes ring true in every note of the album and are both so classically Del Rey yet different from any of her previous works. Her growth and unmatched sound are heard in every song and make it clear that Lana Del Rey will continue to be a pop symbol for years to come.”
