Chicago indie rock band Twin Peaks had around $5,000 worth of guitars, amps and other gear stolen from their trailer in Humboldt Park earlier this week, according to their social media pages. Some of the 11 items stolen include a 1997 American Fender Telecaster, a 1960s Kay CustomKraft and a 1960s Epiphone Caballero Acoustic guitar.
The band is encouraging fans to search through Craigslist and a variety of local pawnshops for these items, stating that “anyone who finds any of these items gets free Twin Peaks shows for life and some other rewards.” A few of the items hold important value to the band member’s such as the stolen Telecaster, which was given to the band’s guitarist Colin Croom at the age of six.
The band’s drummer Connor Brodner “noticed something was wrong when he went out to the band’s trailer, which was parked outside of his home in the 1000 block of North Kedzie in Humboldt Park, Tuesday morning.”
The band debuted their latest studio album release Lookout Low earlier this year via Grand Jury Music. This album was noted for the band’s sonic blends, which combined multiple different elements of folk, post-punk, classic rock, silky synthesizers and country.
“While the rest of the songs showcase the band’s inarguable technical talent and ability to incorporate diverse genres into their music, the songs themselves still seem to miss a quality of memorability,” mxdwn reviewer Stefan Flores explained. “The tracks lack a definitive biting edge that leaves a lasting impression of the group’s sonic persona.”
