English singer and songwriter, James Blake, covered musician, Billie Eilish’s song, “When the Party’s Over,” in Los Angeles on Dec. 10. This concert marked the first show of his solo piano tour.
The audience sat silently as the Blake played the piano. His falsetto vocal range mesmerized the crowed as his fingers danced along the keys on the piano.
Blake’s piano tour consists of four dates. His upcoming show, on Dec. 11 takes place in Los Angeles, at the Treater at the Ace Hotel, and the remaining in New York City, NY.
Blake recently released his critically acclaimed album, Assume Form, earlier this year, featuring artists such as Travis Scott, Rosalia and Andre 3000. This new album was praised for his change in style of music to a more upbeat tone.
“There was a moment where I started working on some other projects and found myself a little bit in no man’s land with a bunch of music I was sitting on,” said Blake. “I had a moment of realization when I was at San Francisco’s Treasure Island Festival. I looked out and it was an amazing, large crowd. I went, oh yeah, I have my own thing.”
Blake is set to play at the New York Harvey Theatre, in New York City, NY, on Dec. 17.
