Eurythmics Play First Show Together in 5 Years and Perform Their Own Songs For First Time Since 2008

The epic reunion of Eurythmics took place at New York’s Beacon Theater for a benefit concert called “We’ll Be Together,”  benefitting The Rainforest Fund and curated by Sting. The star-studded show featured some notable collaborations including Debbie Harry and DMC performing “Rapture,” Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp performing “Glory Days” and the  “Pink Houses”. After The Boss went into “Dancing in the Dark” he was then joined by some of the event’s guests including James Taylor, Ricky Martin, Shaggy, Sting himself, and even Robert Downey Jr. to cover Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing”.

The most talked-about collaboration was between Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart, who is also known as the Eurythmics. According to Consequence of Sound, the duo hadn’t performed together since a 2014 Beatles tribute concert, and it was the first time they’d performed their own music since the 2008 UK Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Robert Downey Jr. served as the host for the evening and introduced, which they then performed their tracks “Would I Lie to You”, “Here Comes the Rain Again”, and the classic “Sweet Dreams.”
