Dead Cross Is Working On a New Album

American hardcore punk band, Dead Cross, revealed on Dec. 4, through their Twitter, that they have begun tracking for their second LP. The band is recording their LP with producer, Ross Robinson, who has also produced albums for Korn, Slipknot and Limp Bizkit.

This release will mark the first since guitar player, Michael Crain, also part of Retox, and Festival of Dead Deer, announced he was cancer free, for squamous cell carcinoma, after going through chemotherapy and radiation.

“I cannot express enough gratitude to my friends, family, supporters and fans,” Crain wrote on his Instagram. “Now that all the chemo and radiation has left my body, I’m slowly starting to feel alive again.”

When asked about the band’s musical direction, vocalist, Mike Patton, said the new record is like a traditional hardcore album. He further mentions it is very pointed, direct and visceral.

“In some ways, it reminded me of stuff that we had collectively all grown up with and loved when we were teenagers,” said Patton. “Bands like the Accüsed, Deep Wound or Seige, stuff that was just brutal, uncompromising and right to the point.”

Patton is also in American rock band, Faith No More, and American rock supergroup, Tomahawk. Faith No More is set to play at Finland’s Tuska festival in 2020, opening for major bands Korn, Gojira and Deftones. The festival will be taking place on the weekend of Jun. 26 to Jun. 28. The band is also set to play at Ireland’s Sunstroke Festival, France’s Hellfest and Olso’s Tons of Rock Festival in Norway.

Drummer, Dave Lombardo, who is widely known for his major roles as drummer in legendary bands such as Suicidal Tendencies, Misfits, and previously Slayer, is set to play show with Misfits, on Dec. 14, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.

At the moment, there is no set release date for Dead Cross’s upcoming LP.
