American Nightmare Are Back With Punk Spirit on “Life Support”

Boston hardcore punk band, American Nightmare, released their new single “Life Support” on Dec. 3. The song is filled with deadly riffs and fast drums, as the vocalist, Wesley Eisold,  matches the energy from the instruments, with his powerful voice.

The song immediately kicks off with a fast riff, and Eisold, wastes no time to utilize his mighty vocals to balance the instrumentals. Eisold sings about being on life support, and how those who are keeping on the support, are attempting to keep him down.

“Yeah they got me on life support,” Eisold sings. “In a cold war looking for a wave of warmth.”

The song picks up intensity as it inches closer to the second chorus and to the final verse. The aggression and emotion is evident as the song abruptly ends, causing a wave like sound as the guitars magically fade away.

Eisold is also the founder of electronic band, Cold Cave, who released their single “Promised Land” earlier this year in February. They also set off on tour shortly after the release of their single, to promote their 2018 EP, You Me, and Infinity.

American Nightmare recently released their two-song EP, Life Support, which can be streamed via Spotify and YouTube, and a vinyl version will be released on Feb. 14, 2020. The EP, which marks their first release since their 2018 self-titled album, features the song “Life Support”, as well as a Lemonheads cover “Left for Dead.”

American Nightmare will be heading off on their 20th Anniversary Tour with American punk band, Ceremony, on Feb. 13 in Boston, MA at the Royale.
