The Naked and Famous Share Video for Sugar-Sweet New Song “Sunseeker”

New Zealand indie electronic duo, The Naked and Famous, dropped their music video for the newly released single “Sunseeker” on Nov. 7. This new song marks the first release by the band since the release of their acoustically reimagined song “Young Blood (Stripped)” in 2018.

As the music video creeps into motion, vocalist, Alisa Xayalith, is shown standing in front of a bright orange wall, which is conveniently placed on a beach. The screen is split, and the guitarist, Thomas Powers, is shown to the left, dancing along to Xayalith’s voice, and the animated beats.

Xayalith and Powers start dancing to choreographed like steps from the middle of the song; the walls are changing colors, and the scenery changing. The enthusiasm in the dance moves is evident in the synchronization of their steps as Xayalith sings, “did you, did you, did you, did you know I need ya.”

The Naked and Famous was founded in 2007 in Auckland, NZ, and has since released three studio albums. They are widely known for their unique fusion of synth-rock riffs and indie beats, but last year, the duo released their first acoustic compilation, which included a plethora of their songs from previous albums, reimagined acoustically.

At the moment, tour dates for 2019 and 2020 are unknown.
