Forty three glorious years have passed since Fleetwood Mac released their record breaking song, “The Chain.” Recently Evanescence posted a cover for a remake of, “The Chain.” The song and artwork of the band is part of a multi-million-dollar campaign in conjunction with Microsoft’s new game, Gears 5. Gears of War 5 is a video game that has been rocking the minds of gamers everywhere since the original release of the game Gears of War in early 2006.
Blabbermouth.com stated that Amy Lee, the lead singer of the band, said that she was very excited to be a part of this project and it has been a joy working on a song that was originally created by the famous band Fleetwood Mac.
The song has a rock and roll drama twist to it that fits the dark multifaceted ghost in the game mantra. The commonality between Evanescence and Gear’s of War is that they share a tone of full of duress and eerie mystery. Therefore making Evanescence a perfect fit for the job. The band has not only been working on this project for Gears of War to hop back into relevancy within the music scene. But Evanescence has also been working toward releasing more original music coming soon in 2020. View the song below and rock out!
Evanescence also announced in early November that they will be joining My Chemical Romance, Jimmy Eat World, In Flames and The Offspring, who will join others at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba on March 29th for the Japan Download Festival.
