The iconic rock album will be celebrated in a huge way for its 40th anniversary. Numerous legendary rock stars will be performing, and paying tribute to this amazing rock album on the Bowery Ballroom stage on Saturday, December 14, 2019. This 18+ show will begin opening their doors at 7:00 PM, while the amazing lineup will showcase their talent and love for the album around 8:00 PM. Tickets for this show are sold out, but if more tickets do get released, expect to pay from $25-$30.
One of the most praised works the Clash has done is definitely their third studio album, London Calling. It was released at the end of 1979 in the UK, and it was released in the United States the next year. The album has been able to sell five million copies worldwide, while during its release it was able to reach the top ten in the UK charts. The album has been highly praised by many well-renowned organizations, Rolling Stone called it the best album of the 1980s and even ranked it number eight on their “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” The album is such a legendary album that it was even inducted on the Grammy Hall of Fame back in 2007.
