Rodrigo y Gabriela Cover Metallica’s “Battery”

Mexican acoustic guitar duo, Rodrigo y Gabriela, released new cover song, “Battery”, originally written by renowned metal band, Metallica. The duo has a unique instrumental take on the song, and distinctively portrays the ‘heavy’ sound on through their acoustic guitars.

“It’s no secret that we love Metallica,” Rodrigo says. “Master of Puppets changed everything for us when we first heard it all those years ago.”

The duo released their fifth studio album, Mettavolution, earlier this year in April, and will be releasing their Mettal EP on Nov. 29, with the newly released cover song featured in the EP. The EP will also be featuring cover songs from Megadeth and Slayer.

“We’re so happy to release our studio version in full for our fans,” Gabriela said. “Thank you to the fans for coming with us on this trip, and eternal gratitude to Metallica for the incredible music.”

The pair will release the EP as a one-sided 12” vinyl, which is limited to 2,500 copies, specifically sold at independent record stores.
