Post Animal Announces New Album Forward Motion Godyssey for February 2020 Release

American psychedelic rock band, Post Animal, announced their sophomore album, Forward Motion Godyssey, which is due to release on Feb. 14, 2020, via Polyvinyl.

“We wanted to go extreme in a lot of different directions” said drummer, Wesley Toledo. “We wanted to be as poppy as we’ve ever been, as over-the-top as we’ve ever been, as grandiose and heavy and dramatic as we’ve ever been.”

The album feature 11 new brand-new songs, each containing a story and meaning of its own.

  1. Your Life Away
  2. Post Animal
  3. Schedule
  4. Fitness
  5. In A Paradise
  6. The Whole
  7. How Do You Feel
  8. Safe or Not
  9. Private Shield
  10. Damaged Goods
  11. Sifting

“We wrote a song so pop, it’s not pop,” the band said. “It’s what the original idea deserved.”

The band originally started with six members, but has recently become a five-piece band, as co-founder of the band, Joe Keery, has left the line up to act as a major character on Netflix’s Stranger Things.

Since the departure of Keery, the band mentions how they are deeply rooted in brotherhood, as bass guitarist, Dalton Allison, guitarist, Matt Williams, stem from a near-lifelong friendship, additionally stating the band’s strong chemistry is evident throughout the entire album.

“Using the melody as a vehicle, take in the lyrics,” the band elucidates. “Forge your own path as you gain perspective from the genuine, heartfelt message penned from within Post Animal.”

The band will be kicking off their North American Tour with Twin Peaks on Nov. 21 in Dallas, TX, and will be opening for Cage The Elephant in the UK/EU in early 2020.
