Listen to the Surprisingly Excellent New Metal Song From Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco

Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie, has dropped a new metal song which was revealed during a livestream on November 15th. The performer shared this track  as a reward on his Twitch for receiving $75,000 in donations for his Highest Hopes Foundation charity; although the stream eventually surpassed that amount and totaled $134,000 at the end of 24-hours.

This latest track remains untitled, and was shown twice during the Twitch livestream. The track opens up with some sparse ambient noise, before going off into a hard hitting guitar riff. Urie does screaming and regular sung vocals on the track, performing in a metalcore style.

The track appears at 5:59 and 8:55

This track was announced on the PRP, which covers most genres associated with the metal genre, which is a departure from Urie’s typical style. While his band Panic! At The Disco started off with a pop punk and emo style during the beginning of their career, the group ventured into a more pop oriented style, with Urie making an appearance on Taylor Swift’s “Me!” earlier this year.

Commenters on the source article gave the track a warm reception, which is atypical for the crowd the website typically caters to. “Damn, I want more of this. Not surprised people on here are shocked to enjoy something from Brendon, but Panic has put out some really good songs over the years,” one commenter wrote.

Panic! At The Disco released a new music video earlier this year for the track “Dancing’s Not Crime.” The band, along with Vampire Weekend and Billie Eilish made an appearance at this year’s Music Midtown.
